Director of Finance & Accounting   Our client is a leader in financial services and a pioneer is social investing (ESG) Environmental/Social/Governance.  We are looking for a hands-on manger to assist in financial operations.  You will focus on monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and responsible for company budget.  Must be able to handle GAAP reporting and establish procedures in support of the company’s strategic business and financial goals. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or finance.  Advanced degree, CPA or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge of and 5-7 years’ experience in GAAP financial reporting and the audit process.
Experience with registered investment advisory firms or mutual funds preferred.
Familiarity with IFRS accounting and accounting for stock options a plus.
Proficient in the use of Excel, familiarity with accounting software systems (MS Dynamics 365 GP).
Ethically focused; high integrity, trustworthiness, and ethical standards.

Human Resource Director:  

Mid-size (350+) clean manufacturing company is looking for an HR leader. This person will promote and implement human resource values by planning and managing human resources programs; directing staff, implementing required initiatives and coaching upper management in progressive HR practices.    Job Duties:  Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Implements human resources strategies and practices by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations.

Manages day-to-day human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

Associate /AccountantOur client is actively seeking skilled Accounting Associates who are integral members of their client service teams and are responsible for the day-to-day accounting and operations for a portfolio of assigned clients. Associates work closely with the other members of the firm to ensure accurate client-specific accounting and financial administration. In addition to reviewing and processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, making journal entries, and working with budgets, Associates also prepare financial statements (including cash flow reports) and get involved with forecasting, financial statement analysis, tax coordination, and estate administration.  Responsibilities include: Manage the full cycle of books and records for assigned clients, including accounting for and reporting on small businesses, planes, boats, investments, real estate, and other assets.  Prepare bank reconciliations and vendor reports, identify issues and work with team members for resolution.  BS/Accounting; 2 + yrs. experience with G/L and GAAP;hands-on skills in QuickBooks; Excel and the ability to interface with all levels and outside professionals.

Legal Positions:

Legal Counsel /VP – In-House
We are seeking a Counsel that has strong experience supporting the Investment and Trading aspects of a buy side firm. Very strong Counseling skills providing advice to Portfolio Managers and Trading personnel are required. This is more of counseling than a transactional role. Seeking strong domain knowledge in the counseling space of Asset Classes, specifically Fixed Income and Equities are needed. Derivatives and Hedge fund knowledge is a plus. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of early experience at a well-recognized law firm followed by 4 years of in house asset management. We will look at other similar profiles. Counsel will be part of a team responsible for all facets of support to the investment and trading portions of the company’s business.

Responsibilities will include:
Provide or oversee legal support for the firm’s investment and trading business lines. Specific activities may include providing general counsel and advice on regulatory, fiduciary, risk and other issues related to portfolio management and trading activities, support of capital markets activities across a wide range of markets and asset classes, advocacy and engagement with regulators, managing external counsel, and counseling business colleagues. The role is based in the United States, but involves support of functions located across the globe and collaboration with colleagues based in EMEA and Asia.

  • 8-12+ years of experience practicing law
  • Broad based securities and asset management experience, ideally with experience providing support to portfolio management and/or trading business lines
  • Experience in some facets of transactional work (derivatives, equity, fixed income or structured) preferred but not required
  • Experience at a national law firm or relevant in-house position
  • Strong legal and analytical skills
  • Good business judgment and strong counseling skills
